I have worked in the publishing business since 1991 and have broad range of editorial, production, and project management skills and experience. My strong belief in lifelong learning and continuous growth leads me to seek out new challenges and opportunities. In the course of my career I’ve had the opportunity to learn not only editorial and project management skills, but also basic layout and design. These skills have served me well in developing my “eye” for when something is off in a proof and in avoiding problems in layout by preparing manuscripts with layout needs in mind.
My projects have ranged from short-run books by first-time authors to speakers’ promotional books to college textbooks to celebrity memoirs to best-selling novels by household names. A list of selected recent titles is available upon request.
I am a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association and the American Copy Editors Society, and a Professional Member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (UK). I have given presentations and/or participated in panel discussions at conferences for all three of those organizations (among others).
I am also a coauthor of The Cat Lover’s Daily Companion (Quarry, 2009), which has also been rereleased in paperback and a Kindle edition (and in 2013 in Slovenian!).
